When asked to participate in this project, to sketch an ink well and feather pen, within minutes she returned the design you see on the cover of Another Day's Writing.
Katelyn has won numerous awards for her creativity in various contests at the schools she has attended and in the community. In her spare-time she enjoys music, sketching, horseback riding and hanging out with her friends and dogs.
Katelyn the youngest of her siblings has an older brother Keegan and a twin brother Karsen. Katelyn and Karsen share Great Grandma Nettie’s birthday.
Great Grandma Nettie would be very proud of the artistic abilities Katelyn exhibits and the young lady she is becoming.

Linda Skiles, having a deep passion for preserving family history and keeping memories alive, has written various life stories for family and friends. Compiling photos and text she brings the story together creating a memorable keepsake of an individual’s life for generations to come.
Hoping simply to share with her cousins, Linda began compiling her great grandmother’s penned poetry in 2006. The words spoke to her such that they should be shared with others as well. February 2011 she released Volume I, Nettie's Fountain Pen – Homespun Philosophy. It is with great pleasure that Nettie’s Fountain Pen – Another Day’s Writing is completed and ready to share with you. Volume II was released on July 23rd, 2019, the birthday of, three of Nettie’s great-granddaughters; Linda’s two sisters Sandra and Kimberly and our cousin Karen.
With gratitude, Nettie’s Fountain Pen Homespun Philosophy and Another Day’s Writing are a tribute to a very special lady, with a lasting legacy of love for life and all of God’s creation.
A lifelong resident of Lyons, Wisconsin, in 2008, Linda complied a pictorial history in a “then and now” coffee table style book to preserve the memories of its people, the businesses and the history of the community she was born and raised in. “The Things I Know and The Stories I’ve Been Told” was well received by her community.

Sandra "Sandy" Eschenbacher, Linda's sister and a great granddaughter of Nettie Grace Greninger Strohm, has been sketching most of her life. She is the true artist in the family. Her eye and talent for drawing is inborn and she blesses her family with the beautiful works of her art. The illustration of Great Grandma's secretariat on the cover of Homespun Philosophy was sketched from the heart.
To most of her family she is known as Sandy, but when she signs her artwork she uses Sandra. It was Great Grandma Nettie who told her, “Sandra is your name and don’t let anyone take that away from you.”
Just one more piece of philosophy and wisdom from a very smart lady.
